Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys believes she is the last of the Targaryens at this point in the story. She calls herself the true heir to the throne, and her journey has tested her along the way.

Daenerys full title is as follows: “Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons”.

Daenerys has earned every name in her title, and her determination to make it to King's Landing has not waned since she left with the Dothraki. After she completes her mission to save the world from the White Walker's she will surely be back to claim the throne.

Jon Snow

Jon is a Targaryen, which means he is the true heir to the throne. He Already has backing from the North, but this would mean that he would be taking the throne from Daenerys and accepting a job he does not desire.

Jon is strong, and is a good leader. His companion, Ghost, has protected him thus far, and if he can survive the battle with the Night King, he may be forced onto the throne.

Tyrion Lannister

As hand to the queen, he will be in place to take over if something should happen.

From early on Tyrion has been in the middle of the action. With connections to Cersei, Daenerys, Jon, and several other powerful characters, he is in a good position to take control.

Tyrion has been looked down on his whole life, but he is cunning, and that may place him in line for the throne.

Cersei Lannister

Cersei will stop at nothing to stake her claim at the throne. She wants to be Queen, and won't stop until she is.

Cersei currently sits closet to the throne and the power is all hers. If she can just hold off the threat from Daenerys and the Night King the throne will be hers.

With Jaime by her side, she is unstoppable, but she must keep him there or she may not be able to claim the Realm for herself.

Night King

The Night King has risen an army of a dead. The army is composed of zombies that seek to kill anything in their path.

The Night King has a few leaders called White Walkers that can only be killed by Valyrian Steel and Dragonglass. The two items are rare, and this makes the Night King a seemingly unstoppable force.

The Night King is powerful, and since he's taken a dragon, he has the power of flight and fire. If he can't be stopped, the only thing against him taking the throne is the question of if there will be a throne left to take at the end of his march.

The Others

Jaime is the twin brother to Cersei, and if Cersei were to die, he would certainly be close enough to the throne to take over control.

Sansa is an outsider, but her leadership in the North, and time spent in King's Landing give her an advantage in taking over control of the realm.

Bran has given up his claim to Winterfell, but he still could take the throne if his visions guided him to do so. Bran is able to see the past, present, and future, which gives him some obvious advantages.

Arya is strong, cunning, and determined. She could easily beat anyone in combat, and could work her way into the throne room if she desired.

Gendry is a bastard son to King Baratheon. He held a more legitimate claim to the throne than Cersei's bastard children, and he is in a good position to take control of the destiny of the realm.

The Hound hates everything about Kings. This makes him an unusual pick for someone to rule, but he is strong, smart, and would be able to do it if he had to.
